Over 250 subs and 200.000 views!

11/23/2012 2 comments

A new milestone on my Yotube channel has been reached! I now have 252 subscribers and over 200.000 video views! I’m very thankful for this. I only wish I had more interactions with my subscribers, and also that I was better at making videos. Also, if you didn’t know already, I’ve changed my Youtube name from “MurdocLC” to “Swedish Otaku”. Only problem is, the URL is still the same. (I also recently reached over 100 followers on Twitter but is back down to 98 now)

Picture of the month – January 2012 – Japanese folders

My beautiful iPhone homescreen

So the year is here, 2012, the year I go to Japan. I have chosen the month of August as my frame of travel. But the year hasn’t started well at all… Without going too much in to detail, I have to find a job fast.  If I don’t… I might loose my apartment shortly. Which is something terrible to me. I don’t even wanna think about it, but I have to use that fear to fuel my motivation to find a job. Which I’m sooo bad at and the reason I still don’t have a job. So i need to focus on that now. That is one of the reasons I haven’t and won’t post as much here.

This months picture is of my iPhone home screen. I actually don’t remember if I’ve posted it on my blog before. But as you can see it’s awesome. It has the nekomimi wallpaper, nicely arranged apps and a few tweaks made possible by jailbreak. As well as a newer change which is that I’ve written the folder names in Japanese. The read from the left, kontakuto, nihongo, mise and geemu. Whic translates to contact(s), Japanese, shop and game(s)

Boiling bumper

10/22/2011 1 comment

Here’s a recipe for tightening your iPhone 4 bumper.

I have a black iPhone 4 with a white bumper, and it’s so beautiful. Love my iPhone. But damn were they both expensive. The iPhone it self was worth it. The bumper wasn’t really, now that is asking for too much money. And usually I don’t buy it if I think that. But in this case I just needed a good bumper fast so I just caved in.

There are three problems with the bumper however. It gets a bit discolored. It scratches the metal a bit. And it loosens up after some time. Tonight I solved one of those problems. The looseness.

I have long been thinking about it, not reading about it, but just by logic thinking. I had the idea of boiling the bumper to make it tighter. But could it really work? I was always like, “naaah, who would do that? It probably wouldn’t work. I won’t dare to try”. But today I saw it be done in a Youtube video, as I was looking at other iPhone case videos (don’t know why I did really). And yes it worked! It really did tighten up the iPhone 4 bumper. See the video here

So I tried it myself and yes it worked, the bumper sits tighter on now and it feels great. Also it got a bit cleaner obviously.

I didn’t really follow any instructions but below  is my take on it!

My ringtone

As I’ve said, I love customizing. And I’d just like to show, or rather let you listen, to my current ring tone. (Why is there no word like “show” but for sounds?) I’ve had it since I bought my first iPhone in 2009. That was a 2G, now I have iPhone 4 and I love it so! Much more about that later! For now, listen to my awesome ring tone below!

Oh yeah, it’s Sailor Moon’s transformation tune from one of my favorite anime series.

Pokémon say tap – Offcial Pokémon app

This is the first time Nintendo has made an app for the iDevices. Not the first time they have done a franchise outside of their own hardware though. Although in this case it’s mainly done by The Pokémon Company and GameFreaks that handle the development of Pokémon under Nintendo. But it’s still cool to see. So far it seems to be Japan only. And it’s really nothing special but I want it! See the app in action below.

The Swedish Otaku on iPad/iPhone

Don’t forget that there are iPhone and iPad versions of my site as well! I was at the electronic store today, and I was fiddling with the iPad 2. And I went to my site. You know, to get some free advertisement for my site. Anyhow, first I didn’t recognize it, but after a second I saw how damn nice the iPad version of my blog looked like, I love how it looks. I tried getting a screen shot of the iPad somehow but I couldn’t manage to upload it or email it to myself, don’t bother asking why. But I took a photo off the screen so I can show it to you.

And the iPhone version looks like this:
