Merry Christmas! God jul as we say in Sweden, and meri kurisumasu as they say in Japan!

I’m surprised by the view count I’m getting even though I’m not posting anything. I don’t know if it’s all spammers, new people or some people who actually check back here. You know, if you are new to this blog, then there are a ton of posts to check out if you go back. However,  I haven’t stopped posting, I’m just having major problems. I have no idea when I’ll start posting more often, things are looking more bad than better…

I just wanted to thank you for that. And for all the people who have and are reading my blog. And wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Thank you.

My first bluray movie! All I need now is a player…

I just bought District 9 from Amazon. One of the best movies ever, a movie everyone should see.

This is my first bluray movie! Yay! And I don’t even own a bluray player yet!

I will probably buy one the day after christmas eve. In Sweden we have the big celebration on the 24th, aka best day of the year.  And then the next day, until new years eve, there is a big sale in almost every store. Called “mellandagsrean”, which translates to “the middle days sale”, because it’s in between christmas and new year. And of course I’m focusing on the electronic stores. I don’t always buy something but I always go to some of the biggest stores in town, just to have a look. Before I’ve bought a laptop and digital camera and other stuff on that day. Last year I bought my sweet HD TV. And you gotta be be quick! Pretty much only the first day counts, then most of the good deals are gone. Sometimes within the first hour. That’s why there are usually long lines and price wars. The only draw back is that you gotta get up early and stand in lines when it’s freezing outside. But I still love it!

Part of the battle is to know what store to go to. Cause you don’t have much more than a flyer that has been sent out, and it doesn’t show everything. And if one store runs out of what you want before you can even enter the store then you gotta hurry to the next and hope they still have your plan B-item. When I bought my TV last year I was late or something, so when I got there the TV I planned to buy was gone. So I hurried on to the next store, not having a plan B-item. But I found a really sweet deal for a really sweet TV. (Have I written about my TV before? I don’t think so) I bought a 42″ LG HD plasma TV for about $465. Then I dragged it home only using my body and a contraction of my bag and scarf as a lifter-thing. It was really hard and took a while to get it home. I left my bike at the store and went and got it the next day. But I was proud to have gotten it home on my own and happy to have gotten such a sweet deal.

This year I’m looking to buy a bluray-player with surround sound. Not only is my DVD-player pretty big and old, and… it’s not a bluray-player. It also broke last week for some strange reason, the disc sled wont open… I’d like it to have wi-fi or a slot for the iPhone or something along those lines. And it can’t cost more than $435. That’s the plan so far. Wish me luck.

Practice your Japanese while watching the luncar eclipse (outdated)

12/10/2011 Leave a comment

There is a lunar eclipse happening today taking place. It won’t be visible all over the world obviously, but it seems that both Japan and Sweden can spot it. In Sweden after 15:00 and in Japan around 00:00, I don’t have more accurate information. But I did find a Japanese live feed that will show you the eclipse if you’re out of luck, or don’t want to go outside (shame on you!). And they are talking so you can practice your Japanese while waiting for the eclipse to take place.

Yoko from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is one sexy thing

I’ve just started watching the anime Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, I know pretty much nothing of it except from what you would know after three episodes. It seem to take place in a distant future where humans live underground and believe the surface is a myth, at least most people do. I like it. I can’t say more than that about.

Only that it contains this sexy girl Yoko, check out this tribute video to her! MOE~

Picture of the month – December 2011 – Golden remote

Yes of course I’ve bought The Legend of Zelda: Skyward sword. Along with two other items I’ve yet to post about here. Sorry about that. Still things are… in chaos IRL. But the picture of the month, and last for the year obviously, is this close up of the golden Wii-remote that came with the Limited Edition pack of Skyward sword that I bought on It’s golden as you can see, quite shiny. Has white buttons and the famous Zelda emblem over the speaker that is here in focus. It’s also a Wii-remote Plus, with Wii Motion Plus built in that is. Now I own three Wii-remotes, two regular white ones and this. And a WM+ attachment. I wanted a black Wii-remote Plus but this’ll do. Beautiful.

Hatsune Miku concert 2012

12/05/2011 4 comments

There was an announcement a while back, saying that the next Hatsune Miku / Vocaloid live concert will take place in Tokyo, Tokyo Dome City Hall, on March the 8th and 9th. With the main concert on the 9th. This is speculated to be the last concert produced by SEGA with the hologram and all. Who knows how long it will be until the next one.

Ever since I discovered the music and saw the live concert footage on Youtube, it’s been a dream for me to go to this. I’ve never been to any kind of concert, the thought of this kind of concerts makes me squeal! As an otaku it would be amazing!

Unfortunately, this takes place in March which isn’t when I plan to go to Japan. Due to another element I will go later. So i makes me sad that I will miss this opportunity. I so hope I get another chance however distant it might be. T_T
