Capsule hotels

You might know that in Japan there is a thing called capsule hotel, and it is what it sounds like. It’s a hotel where you sleep in capsules, a bed in a pod like space. They have existed in Japan ever since 1979, the basic idea is that people would get the basic needs for sleep in such cases as a business man not being able to make it home for the night. Today it’s being used by whoever just wanna get some sleep and nothing fancy, it’s cheap and gets the job done. A great idea but it hasn’t really reached outside of Japan.

I am going to Japan next year, I will make a post on this later, and I hope to sleep in one of these. A new capsule hotel brand opened not long ago in Kyoto called 9 hours. Check this video for some brilliant Japanese innovation.
